Ross E. Taubman, DPM
Dr. Ross Taubman has been in practice in Maryland since 1985 and in Howard County since 1988. He received his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1979 and then immediately began his medical training at the California College of Podiatric Medicine (CCPM) in San Francisco. Dr. Taubman graduated from CCPM with the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1983. He also received a B.S. in Basic Medical Science from CCPM in 1981.
After graduation, Dr. Taubman completed two years of residency training at the California College of Podiatric Medicine and the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Vallejo, California. His residency program focused on both podiatric medicine and surgery.
Upon arriving in Maryland, Dr. Taubman opened a private practice in Burtonsville, Maryland and then later became Chief of Podiatry at the Patuxent Medical Group, P.A. in Columbia, Maryland. Dr. Taubman worked with PMG until 2000, when he opened a private office in Clarksville, Maryland.
Dr. Taubman is also highly involved in the local and national podiatric medical associations. He served as Treasurer, Vice-President and President of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association and President of the APMA Region VIII, Mid-Atlantic Podiatric Conference in 1996-1997. He lectures extensively to podiatrists, nurse practitioners and the community on podiatric medicine and diabetes.
Dr. Taubman is currently President-elect of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He will begin his term as President of the Association in April of 2008.
Dr. Taubman is no stranger to the media spotlight either. He was featured in USA Today in May 2001 and then participated in a media tour for the APMA where he was interviewed by 16 radio stations and 16 additional television stations over the course of two days. The media tour, which reached over 40 million people, was to promote "Diabetes is a Family Affair," for American Diabetes Month in November 2001.
Taubman has also received a number of honors. He was named Podiatric Physician of the Year in 1996 by the Fund for Podiatric Medical Education and Physician of the Month in October 1996 by the St. Agnes Surgery Center. He is a diplomate in the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
